Beaches In Barbados

As with most of the islands in the Caribbean, Barbados has some of the most fantastic and awe inspiring beaches that you'll find anywhere in the world. The beaches in Barbados really have to be seen to be believed. There are more than 70 miles of glorious white sand that can be explored easily on your trip. The beaches run down into the clearest blue seas that contain reefs and some amazing marine life with brightly coloured fish and untouched coral reefs.

Public Beaches

Apart from the privately owned patches of beach that the reosorts and private residencies have, all of the beaches in Barbados are open to the public. This means that you'll always be able to visit a beach no matter which side of the island you are on. There are beaches on all the four sides of the island but the warmest side is the west coast as this is the side next to the Caribbean sea. These beaches are the most popular of the whole island. This is because on the other sides of the island the seas are a lot more hostile with huge waves and very strong currents, so swimming isn't really recommended.

Scuba Diving In Barbados

A wide variety of watersports are available on the south and west beaches in Barbados including para-sailing, jet skiing and scuba diving. All these can usually be booked on the day so you won't have to pre-book any of them. The friendly locals will offer you advice and will make sure you stay safe when undertaking these activities. You'll find they are the most laid back people you'll ever meet but they will do almost anything to make sure your stay is enjoyable and a trip to remember. You can also visit any time during the year as temperatures remain consistent the whole year through.
